QotD: My Earliest Memory

What is your earliest memory?

It's sad and depressing and apparently people don't like to hear about it. I'm pretty sure it's a memory of my parents fighting. I was between them on a stool at a kitchen bar. Somehow during their fight I got knocked back off the stool onto the floor. 

See what I mean?

That's a pretty awful first memory to have. Though I wonder if maybe it's one that you (generic 'you') could gain some sort of determination from, not to ever end up in the same place?

Well, ever since I first found out that my childhood was "awful and how did I turn out without more emotional scarring," I stopped talking about it. I didn't want to upset people and I didn't want to make it look like I was out for sympathy.

I've always been pretty determined to not end up in the same place and I never want to put someone else in that place. Sure I argue with people, I think it would impossible not to with my personality, but I do try to never make it so bad that I ignore others or unintentionally throw people into the middle of things.
